MATCH-E-BE-NASH-SHE-WISH BAND OF POTTAWATOMI INDIANS SEEKS TO BRING BENEFITS OF GUN LAKE CASINO TO AREA

Makes Substantial Progress with Environmental Assessment Release

DORR, Mich. Dec. 1, 2002 - Editors Note: The following statement may be attributed to Mr. D. K. Sprague, Tribal Chairman, Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, commonly known as the Gun Lake Tribe:

"The overwhelmingly strong support from the Friends of the Gun Lake Indians [FOGLI], along with the many community organizations who have already endorsed the Gun Lake Casino, is appreciated by the Gun Lake Tribe.

"We continue to achieve major progress with the publishing of our Environmental Assessment, which is part of the federal process to re-create a small portion of our Tribal homelands.

"We look forward to opening the Gun Lake Casino with its more than 4,300 good jobs, local supplier purchases, economic development, and local and state revenue sharing to benefit the community and the state.

The Gun Lake Casino has already been extensively supported by local organizations, including: Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce, Barry County Chamber of Commerce, Gun Lake Chamber of Commerce, Wayland Chamber of Commerce, City of Allegan, Wayland Township Board, Dorr Business Association, Deputy Sheriff's Association of Michigan, Michigan Building and Trades Councils, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers, Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, and the Michigan Distributors and Vendors association.
