LORRAINE "PUNKIN" SHANANAQUET
Community Health Representative
Punkin has been employed as the MBPI CHR since March 2003. Her work allows continual contact with tribal member families who need assistance with medical, dental, or optical appointments. She is dedicated in treating each tribal member as an equal and is an advocate for the client in the medical profession. Compassion and understanding are her best attributes. Punkin has attended training for certification for advanced CHR classes as well as on-line classes for medical terminology and coding.

Punkin serves on the Education Committee and Community Task Force for the new Community Center. She also serves on the Design Committee for the Gun Lake Casino. Punkin teaches Anishinabemowin on Monday and Wednesday nights for Grand Rapids Public Schools. She holds a Three Fire Society 2nd Degree Mide' and is a Beadwork Artist.

TINA HORNE
Community Health Nurse / Diabetes Coordinator
Tina K. Horne, RN graduated from Grand Rapids Community College and is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Grand Valley State University and plans on obtaining her Masters in Science in Nursing. Her goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner and work for a Tribal Clinic. She has worked in the Native Community since 1998.

She is Pottawatomi and Ottawa on her mother's side - Madonna Chisholm and Creek on her late father's side - Eugene Chisholm. She has been a life long resident of the Grand Rapids area and is currently a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. Her health experience includes; medical/surgical floor nursing, maternal child health, IHS grant programs, brain injury unit, elder care and home care.
